ContactEase is pleased to welcome Denise Ash as Customer Success Team Leader. In this newly created role, Ash will serve as a liaison between the ContactEase Support Team and clients to ensure a seamless customer support experience.
Ash joins ContactEase from the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA). At ILTA, she served as Education Coordinator, planning educational sessions at the leading legal technology organization’s conferences and serving the member liaison community. She first became involved with ILTA through her role as a User Application Specialist at West Virginia law firm, Robinson & McElwee. Ash served as the Regional Member Liaison for Charleston, West Virginia, and as a member of the Apps and Coordinating team. She is also a recipient of ILTA’s Distinguished Peer Award – User Support Champion.
Denise brings nearly two decades of law firm IT experience to ContactEase. Most recently, she was the Training Manager at Jackson Kelly PLLC where she was responsible for training the firm’s users on ContactEase and managed several significant software deployments.
Denise lives in St. Albans, West Virginia, and has two adult children. In her spare time, she enjoys local history, team trivia, escape rooms, and cheering on the Marshall University Thundering Herd.
It’s #dogust and we’re celebrating the dogs of ContactEase (and the humans who love them)! If you follow us on Twitter, you’ve already met one of our four-legged friends, Welker Elliott. What you may know about #dogust is that August 1 is the unofficial birthday of rescue dogs. In this post, we’re introducing you to the rescue work of ContactEase IT Technical Manager, Greg Thomas.
When he’s not working with clients to ensure a smooth implementation or help them use CRM to its fullest potential, Greg volunteers with the American Belgian Malinois Rescue, a breed-specific rescue organization that focuses on, you guessed it, the Belgian Malinois.
According to the American Kennel Club, the Belgian Malinois is known for being “smart, confident and versatile.” It is also known as a “world-class worker who forges an unbreakable bond with its human partner.” These qualities make the breed a popular choice with police, federal agencies and other law enforcement. In fact, it was as a military police K-9 officer in the United States Army that Greg first became familiar with the breed.
Mailinois can also be very high strung and require a lot of attention which is why not all make the cut for this kind of work. As a result, many end up in shelters. And that’s where the ABRM comes in – the organization tries to rescue and place as many dogs as it can.

ABMR has volunteers like Greg across the United States who conduct home visits and interview potential families (both foster and adoptive). Volunteers also help coordinate transfers of Malinois across the country by breaking the transport into one-two hour segments. Local volunteers drive and transfer to the next driver until the dog reaches its final adoptive or foster family. Greg has helped transfer dogs from Maine to Florida, New Jersey to Texas, and even adopted a few of his own. Greg and his family have adopted three Belgian Malinois through the rescue.
In the United States, Thanksgiving is barely over, but the holiday card season is well under way. At ContactEase, we’ve talked to many marketers about managing the holiday card process at their firms. While some firms have moved from traditional paper cards to electronic ones, it seems that holiday cards are still very much a part of a firm’s relationships and traditions. Are we right? ContactEase Holiday Traditions: P.J. Sawchuk, Director of Support & Technology
If you’ve spent any time with our Director of Support & Technology, P.J. Sawchuk, you know how passionate he is about food. As it turns out, that extends to his family as well! One of P.J.’s favorite holiday traditions is the Feast of the Seven Fishes. This Italian-American tradition is a celebration on Christmas Eve that typically includes fish and other seafood.
Of his family’s tradition, P.J. says, “We shoot for double digits. While you’ll always see things like shrimp, scallops and crab cakes [note: P.J. resides in the Baltimore area], we like to experiment, too. Some family favorites include bacalao (a salted cod dish) and an escarole with bread crumbs, olives, anchovies and capers. Big flavor!”

Cole Valley Software is pleased to announce that Paul (P.J.) Sawchuk has joined the company as Director of Support & Technology. In this role, he will lead the support team to ensure clients continue to receive the best possible experience.
P.J. joins the ContactEase team from the Maryland law firm of Franklin & Prokopik where he served as Director of IT and was responsible for implementing strategic initiatives and aligning the firm’s technology and business processes. Sawchuk’s addition further strengthens the ContactEase team’s already significant in-house experience.
As a former ContactEase client, Sawchuk worked with his firm to identify a need for CRM and has been involved with every step of the implementation process. Of the decision to join ContactEase, he says “I’ve always appreciated the power of ContactEase which is why I recommended it to my firm. Everyone I worked with at Cole Valley Software was passionate about the product and eager to ensure our firm’s success.”
P.J. received his undergraduate degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He is currently enrolled in the University of Baltimore’s Merrick School of Business where he is pursuing an MBA. Active in his community, he is a 2016 recipient of SmartCEO | Baltimore’s Executive Management Award – CIO/CTO, a member of the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) and has served on numerous committees with Mercy Medical Center.
